Tasks to be performed by the Holocaust Memorial Servant The Florida Holocaust Museum is the fourth
largest Holocaust Museum of the United States. The Museum also provides
a great educational program that gives teachers and students the
opportunity to learn more about the Holocaust. The work of the Austrian
Gedenkdienst interns contains:
Docenting groups of students and
adults through the exhibit areas of the Museum.
Building up the Museums library
and resource center.
Videotaping of Survivor testimonies.
Inventoring and updating teaching
trunks which contain educational materials for school classes
from grade 3 to 12.
Organize and coordinate Student
Awareness Days with the Museums Educational Director.
Set up of exhibits of the Holocaust.
Once they become familiar with
the Museums activities, interns will do public relations work
such as greeting visitors or speaking to groups. The interns
will talk about Gedenkdienst and their personal reasons
for choosing to serve at a Holocaust institution.
